The Lost World

Thanks to Darren Tanke for passing on this ad from Sept. 18, 1925.

Nash The Slash in action!

On Friday night I had the pleasure of sharing a stage with legendary musician Nash The Slash. Nash preformed a live soundscape for a showing of the 1925 silent film, The Lost World, featuring some amazing stop-motion animation by Willis (King Kong) O'brien. Ray Harryhausen had hoped to be at the show and do an introduction for the the movie but could not make it due to scheduling conflicts. Instead Ray sent me a nice fax detailing the influence the film had on his career and asked me to read it on his behalf, which I was a happy to do!

Check out some of Nash's music in the "Film Scores and Soundbites" section of his "gravesite".
